Call summary :

Grants Program

Offering grant funding to organizations around the globe that advance commercial aviation or engage in aviation-related humanitarian efforts.

The International Society of Transport Aircraft Trading (ISTAT) Foundation 2024 Grants Program now encompasses both Educational Grants and Humanitarian Grants.

What has changed?

Through this consolidated program, the ISTAT Foundation provides grant funding to non-profit organizations globally that either promote and advance commercial aviation or engage in aviation-related humanitarian efforts. As of January 2024, the Grants Committee of the ISTAT Foundation now oversees both educational and humanitarian grant funding.

This modification has a direct impact on organizations that previously applied for a grant through the Humanitarian Aid Program. While the ISTAT Foundation remains dedicated to supporting humanitarian initiatives, it has streamlined the process through a single Grants Program. As a result, there is now one application form for both educational and humanitarian grants, with the deadline moved up to 24 April 2024.

Who qualifies for an Educational Grant?

Educational Grants are intended to build and enhance awareness of diverse careers in aviation, inspiring the next generation to consider a future in the aviation industry.

Eligible organizations must be registered as non-profit entities and offer aviation-focused educational platforms such as summer camps, workshops, or other programs or projects dedicated to enhancing knowledge about the aviation industry. Applications are accepted from a variety of organizations, including:

- Museums
- Educational Institutions/Universities
- Industry Associations/Student Associations
- Youth Organizations

Who qualifies for a Humanitarian Grant?

Humanitarian Grants are aimed at supporting organizations that leverage aviation to save lives, promote human welfare, and alleviate suffering.

Eligible organizations must be registered as charitable, non-profit entities focusing on aviation-related humanitarian prevention, relief, and/or recovery efforts for:

- Natural disasters (drought, floods, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, etc.);
- Human-generated disasters (conflict, social, industrial/transport accidents, etc.) or
- Health-related crises

How to Apply

The application for the 2024 Grants Program is open. Due to the integration of the Grants and Humanitarian Programs, there is now a single application form for both types of grant requests.

The deadline to apply for the 2024 Grants Program is Wednesday, 24 April 2024.

?The applicants will be notified of the status of their application no later than 12 June 2024.

Other Applicant Considerations:

- International Focus and Themes: Programs or projects with an international focus and themes related to aviation and sustainability will be prioritized by the committee.
- Submission Limit: Organizations are restricted to submitting one application per year. Past applicants are eligible to apply in subsequent years.
- Grant Value: For reference, the average grant value in 2022 exceeded US$8,500.
- Funding Restrictions: Please note that we do not fund capital infrastructure, for-profit projects, or engage in support for religious or political activities. Umbrella organizations may apply for a grant only if the proposed program or project is implemented directly by the umbrella organization itself.
- Language Requirement: All application materials must be submitted in English to facilitate the review process.
