1.3 Targeted impact of the C-CAF climate quick impact grants

The targeted impact of the Communities Climate Adaptation Facility (C-CAF) is to empower climate-vulnerable communities by addressing their immediate adaptation needs while ensuring gender-responsive and socially inclusive approaches. This grant aims to enhance the adaptive capacities of these communities and support climate-resilient development. Each funded project will:
1. Improve basic services, particularly for women, children, persons with disabilities, and marginalized groups;
2. Restore ecosystems while integrating traditional and indigenous knowledge;
3. Support sustainable and inclusive livelihoods, prioritizing economic opportunities for underrepresented communities;
4. Preserve cultural heritage and strengthen community cohesion through inclusive adaptation efforts.

1.4 Scope of the C-CAF climate quick impact grants
C-CAF climate quick impact project will focus on addressing the short-term needs of climate vulnerable communities, providing them with access to grants for climate quick impact projects that strengthen adaptive capacities and resilience, and mitigate the effects of climate-related losses & damages.
The C-CAF grants may support diverse interventions in multiple sectors, including but not limited to:
- Water and Sanitation: Ensuring equitable access to clean water and sanitation facilities, including for women, children, and persons with disabilities.
- Environment: Promoting solutions that integrate local or indigenous traditional knowledge and practices.
- Health: Supporting climate-resilient healthcare services, including for reproductive, maternal, and child health.
- Housing: Developing inclusive, climate-resilient housing solutions that cater to diverse needs, including accessibility for persons with disabilities.
- Workforce Development: Strengthening economic opportunities for vulnerable populations, with a focus on women, youth, and indigenous peoples.

1.5 Target beneficiaries
The beneficiaries of the C-CAF climate quick impact grants are climate-vulnerable communities with limited access to financing despite urgent needs to address the impacts of the climate crisis and rising sea level.
The C-CAF is committed to ensuring that funding reaches underrepresented groups, including women, people with disabilities, indigenous communities, and displaced populations, to foster equitable outcomes.
